I'll add some description once I'll have some free time.
[draft]:
It uses API to pull weather data from outside sources. first I started with Weather Underground, they offered limited access for free - good enough for me as I was doing server API requests every hal of an hour. But The IBM bought it and the free tier was no longer. I switched to the Dark Sky. I have to say for Scotland, at least the WU was more precise. anway the deal with Dark Sky was similar with the free tier. But again it was bought by Apple, and free tier no more was anounced. But again, as for early 2023 the station still working and requests returns relevant data.
when they cut the service for real I could switch to Open Weather Map - which supposed to be free forever as it is open sourced. The main problem would be my will to start all over again. Although the API itself and its format is pretty similar. Most of the definitions would need just a bit of adjustments and it should work.

The draw.io works great for diagrams.
Node-red, Set up automation of the system. It was installed on the same device (RPi3b)as the MQTT broker. It allowed to collect the data, distribute it over network and send some values to the google sheets for further analysis.
The servo receives the data from the MQTT broker and moves the handle to point the value on the dial. It shows the charge of the battery of solar powered outside environmental sensor.
Quickly lasered scale on a scrap of wood and hot glued to the piece of rock - proof of concept.
